Smallholder Coffees

Smallholder Coffees

Nshozi Coffee partners with smallholder farmers to provide training and resources they need to produce high-quality coffee using regenerative agriculture practices. We believe that sustainable coffee production is not only good for the environment but also good for the farmers who produce it.

Our farmer training programs are designed to help smallholder farmers improve their coffee production and quality while minimizing their environmental impact. We provide them with guidance on best practices and help them access the resources they need, such as better seedlings, organic fertilizers, and modern equipment. We also offer financing to enable them to make investments in their farms and income diversification.

We purchase the coffee produced by smallholder farmers at prices that are at least 20% above the market farm gate prices. This helps to ensure that they receive fair compensation for their hard work, stay profitable and can continue to invest in their farms and communities. At Nshozi, we have a network of agronomists who work closely with smallholder farmers to provide them with guidance on best practices and monitor the quality of their coffee. We also have our own farm, which serves as a training space for smallholder coffee producers.

Our commitment to promoting sustainable coffee production extends beyond our work with smallholder farmers. We also strive to minimize the environmental impact of our operations by using renewable energy and using coffee waste to produce organic manure. We believe that by working together, we can create a more sustainable future for coffee production and the communities that depend on it.
